Hello Nikola, can you describe your photographic career?

First of all im an amateur and self-taught photographer. Photography is my hobby and im dedicated to learning and practicing my skills everyday. I am not professional artists with expensive equipment, and I’m still not making money from my work. My career is short,im HDR addicted fan for a year and half but with no signs of botheration at all. I am not a classic HDR photographer because  i use HDR pictures as basic, starting point, and not as the final result.Thats why some of my HDR pictures look natural and people could not define them as HDR,and in other way some of them are artistic and pumped with colors and cartoonish effects.
I have started my HDR career with canon G7,than Canon EOS 350D and Sony R1 but I am using canon G9 camera right now. My plan is to take canon EOS 5D as soon as possible. I dont use tripod ,and most of my HDR pictures are from single RAW file but there are a lot of pictures made from 3 RAW shots or 3 JPG shots.

What’s your preferred photographic subjects?

I like diversity in HDR pictures, and huge ability to turn a lot of regular scenes in something spectacular. My main subjects are landscapes and cityscapes and I prefer street scenes full of life.

What is the main theme or your subjects in generally?

Generally i love landscapes and i think i will do more of it in the future. Sometimes i love taking shots of urban city life, but landscapes are something that will be my favorite theme in the future.

How do you have discovered the HDR photography?

Thanks to FLICKR.COM i have discovered HDR photography about 2 years ago. I can call to my mind that moment when i was surfing on net trying to found some new wallpapers for my laptop and in google search some pictures pop up. I was stoned and impressed without knowing that that pictures are HDR . In that moment i have been infected with HDR virus, and that was my starting point. After some reading and surfing i made my first HDR shots.

What is the element which convinced you to try the HDR photography then to adopt it?

Well, you can make something extraordinary from ordinary shots. You can process some scenes with maximum tonal and light  exploitation . Great colors and great light are main advantage of HDR technique.

Why the HDR photography is now a indispensable technique or often used in your shots?

My only answer will be :  » I just love that stuff, HDR makes my everyday life more fun  »

Which is your HDR photographic style : true tone or impressionist?

I am more impressionist than true tone photographer, but in some of my shots you will see retro look, with some texture over the basic HDR product. I love bright and colorful pictures , but muted color or toned HDR pictures can look fantastic too. Experimenting is the best way of finding your own style.

What process do you have to merge sources images, the tone mapping and with which software?

I think this is important question. As I said I usually use one RAW or 3 RAW shots. I use Photomatix 3 Pro for tonemapping, but i use Photoshop CS3 for margeing shots. I have found that photoshop has a better ability in margeing shots. Aligning shots is important and i dont wonna see some ghosting ,so if you ask me, you should use photoshop to marge your shots to HDR file and then put it in Photomatix and do a tonemapping.
After tonemapping in Photomatix I go back to Photoshop and  then i start my work ( PIMPing my PICTURES). I
have more HDR  softwares on my PC but i use only Photomatix 3.0.
